GT Performance Website Redesign
The Challenge
A small car performance and repair shop created by a family of professional race car drivers was expanding rapidly. However, their current website – built on an out-of-date customized CMS – was holding them back.
The Solution
It was clear that to remain competitive in an increasingly popular industry they needed to have a website with flexibility. The shop owners, while technically savvy, needed a system that was stable with an easy-to-use interface, yet scalable to incorporate larger website feature requests like e-commerce for parts sales. After speaking with several new and repeat customers, I identified three focuses of most shop visitors: ordering performance parts, race car preparation and general car service.
The Result
Using my experience with WordPress as an effective, simple CMS, I designed and built a fully customized website that included interactive components to highlight key company products and services; a Blog to give the company a personality and provide customers with an inside perspective on shop updates; and the latest products and deals. All of which was easily connected to their growing Facebook and YouTube fan-base. I used the information from shop customers to develop the primary navigation for the entire site and generation of the copy throughout the site.
