Campus email announcing logistics for its campus card exchange
We are pleased to announce the university’s new campus cards have arrived and will be available for distribution beginning April 16.
The new cards respond to recommendations from UMBC students to expand information available about community safety and wellbeing, including prevention and response to sexual violence and misconduct. The cards feature a black and gold theme with the Retriever logo prominently displayed on the front and emergency contact information for quick access included on the back. This is the first campus card redesign in more than a decade, and we are excited to have a new design that reflects our culture of caring and support.
The new card is one of many projects in the Retriever Courage initiative, with students, faculty, and staff working together to help better prevent and respond to sexual violence/misconduct—in ways that are proactive, caring, and transparent.
To streamline the distribution process, we are hosting several Campus Card Exchange Days, April 16 through May 2. The following is a list of exchange days for faculty and staff:
- April 16, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., UC Ballroom
- April 29, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., UC 310 and 312
- May 1, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., UC Ballroom
- May 2, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., UC Ballroom
Please bring your existing, current campus card and a second form of identification for verification purposes. Approved forms of second identification include a passport, state-issued driver’s license or other government-issued ID, high school ID, or residential ID. If your current campus card is lost or stolen, please submit a support ticket with Campus Card Services as soon as possible. You will not be able to receive your new campus card without exchanging your current one.
If you have any questions or concerns, please visit us at campuscard.umbc.edu. As a reminder, the Campus Card Center hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
